The Corruption Avalanche Of Acorn

in Acorn The Thorn

Acorn_pred_lendObviously the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, (ACORN) is a very infamous word these days. With the recent undercover video investigation, yet another leg to the corruption vein has been revealed.

Much like NBC’s Chris Hanson “To Catch A Predator” series, Hannah Giles and James O’Keefe didn’t even need the high priced surveillance equipment or the help of the online watchdog group Perverted-Justice.  All they needed was guts, a hidden video camera, and a plan. They got the evidence recorded and, like the TV show with Joey Grece called “Cheaters”, when they gathered enough information, they uncovered it through an interesting and very well plotted series with Andrew Breitbart, Glenn Beck, and Sean Hannity.

That’s the part that makes this whole story so fascinating. Most of us that were adults when Bill Clinton was President already knew that ACORN was attached and associated with corruption at some level, so that part wasn’t really fascinating. But the fact that two young adults had orchestrated and delivered this plan in such a way that we had to keep watching. This was certainly a victory for America.

You Can’t Please Everyone
Then there are the “haters”. These are the miserable people, not even tied to the organization, who feel ACORN got the raw deal. Actually, I’m convinced that they don’t really care one way or another… they just hate conservatives so badly that they have to come out of their cave every once in awhile to shower and saw down their fingernails. So they might as well complain too… never let a crisis go to waste.  The latest “whine” is Blackwater (which Obama recently funded). They complain (More than likely whining when they were little produced an good result.) that Blackwater should be investigated, that they are worse than ACORN. Gotta pick your battles. We’ll leave that to you guys and your Dora the Explorer maps.

Who knows what the original intentions for ACORN were. The very intention could have been indeed, to simply help those in need. If that is the case, they’ve sure come a long way from where they started. Let’s go back to the original Community Investment Act of 1977 to start. Click here.
