Remember growing up? I remember one of my biggest fears in school was when another classmate and I were called upon to do the daily raising of the American flag. I was mortified that I’d slip up and part of it would touch the ground. To this day I remember how carefully I did “my part”.

I was only 7 or 8. I didn’t know much about what the flag really and truly meant, only that it represented our country and each state. Even though I knew very little, I had such respect for it that I feared dropping it.

My dad proudly hung the flag outside our home on each patriotic occasion. And seriously, he’d play some marching band song when he did it. LOUD. It embarrassed me back then but now I’m so proud to have such a patriotic father.

Our amazing flag. Each one of our states represented by it’s own star. The star of the show. All 50 stars arranged neatly in a blue frame which unifies us as a nation.

But now each one of us, and our states, and our unity within our country has been replaced… deleted. We are no more. And the cost? Just $4.99 plus postage.

For too long we, as conservatives, have been Republican apologetics. Things just haven’t been the same for many of us since Reagan’s second term ended. But weren’t those the days? Interesting, the freedom we took for granted. Whether you liked him or not, Ronald Reagan did what he said he’d do but he always took it to the people first.

“When millions of tons of angry elephant come spinning through the sky, and there was no one there to hear it, does it – philosophically speaking – make a noise?” — Terry Pratchett

My how the tides have turned. For some reason, unbeknown to us, the Republicans that hold office feel safe to be elephants. I don’t know why, many of them are merely just wearing the uniform like a sheep in wolves clothing. They’re too disassociated with us to realize we’ve shed our uniforms.

Some Republican representatives, them doing “family fun days”… us spending our money to travel to tea parties where squeals of “racism” were thrown at us like rocks, actually thought WE were representing THEM. How foolish. Many of us wondered, at first, who was representing us. We soon realized that WE were the only ones representing us. We’ve got used to that fact and, indeed, are quite comfortable with it now. You stood by while we were ridiculed and called racists by the truest of racists. Shame on you.

Today in Alex Isenstadt’s Politico Article
“We will be a headache for anyone who believes the Constitution of the United States … isn’t to be protected,” said Dick Armey, chairman of the anti-tax and limited government advocacy group FreedomWorks, which helped plan and promote the tea parties, town hall protests and the September ‘Taxpayer March’ in Washington. “If you can’t take it seriously, we will look for places of other employment for you.” >>Full Awesome Article Here!

Dear Mr. or Ms. Republican Representative:

You should know us better by now. With an unbelievable unemployment rate and money being spent faster than it comes off the printing press, why in the world would you feel you have job security when we don’t? We are more anxious than you could begin to imagine. Anxious for the 2010 Congressional Elections to be here.

Just because we don’t like how most of the disingenuous Democrats in office treat us like a lying child (kind of like the pot calling the kettle black – YOU LIE!) that doesn’t mean we like you or the things you do while representing US any better. We are not Republicans or Democrats. We are people “first”. People with brains, with children. Some are grandparents, others service men and women. People who are educated. Business owners and the unemployed. WE are YOUR largest nightmare. We have nothing more to lose and we are not only watching but graphing out your every official move. Every speech. Every bill. Every “no show” vote when it’s your jobs to represent us.

Don’t rest in comfort thinking that “We the People” rested on our laurels like you did. Long before the countrys upheaval there are records of what you did, didn’t do, or said you would do and didn’t. The Internet is a funny thing… it can be your friend or foe and it has no prejudice.

The playing field is quite even Mr. or Ms. Republican Representative hopeful. We don’t care anymore what party you represent. We don’t care anymore what you say you’re going to do. Actions speak louder than words and we’re listening and watching for your responses.

We voted you in — We can vote you out just as easily.
We say Jump and YOU, Mr. or Ms. Representative respond… “How high, Sir or Madame”

More From Alex Isenstadt’s Politico Article
Tea party organizers say their resistance to Republican Party-backed primary candidates has much to do with what they perceive as the GOP’s stubborn insistence on embracing candidates who don’t abide by a small government, anti-tax conservative philosophy.

At the recent “Defending the American Dream Summit,” a conservative event held in Arlington, Va., a breakout session featuring tea party organizers saw panelists peppered with questions ranging from how to start up political action committees and 501(c)(3) organizations to whether it was necessary to hire lawyers.

“Nothing is going to change unless we can get politicians elected who can implement fiscally conservative policies,” Teri Adams of the Philadelphia-based Independence Hall Tea Party Association, which will be launching a political arm, told those in attendance. Full Politico Article Here

“It takes more courage to reveal insecurities than to hide them, more strength to relate to people than to dominate them, more ‘manhood’ to abide by thought-out principles rather than blind reflex. Toughness is in the soul and spirit, not in muscles and an immature mind.” — Alex Karras

The 2010 Congressional Elections will be quite interesting Mr. or Ms. Republican (and Democrat) Representatives, you may want to join the fun.

Economics Idiot: Someone who spends more than he has.

The CBO report on the Senate Finance Committee’s Health Care Reform Bill came in yesterday at a stealthy $829 billion. Well, that’s what the numbers are now. As we all know, the numbers NOW and the actual numbers will be much, much different. As if $829 billion over 10 years isn’t bad enough.

I wonder which orifice this money will be taken from, we’re already hemorrhaging money from every pore in our bodies.

In addition to Nancy Pelosi’s VAT tax (Value Added Tax), Dick Morris states that people relying on Medicare and Medicaid will suffer badly. To the tune of $404 Billion. If that doesn’t turn the heads of every senior citizen, child of a senior citizen or parent who currently qualifies for Medicaid, nothing will.

In addition to people fighting for quality care with the underfunded (and absolutely corrupt) Medicare and Medicaid systems, Morris talked tonight on Greta Van Susteren about a sweet little tax on the sick. Isn’t that nice? So the people who need insurance the most, the sick, will be paying approximately $600 per year extra for their coverage. That is… on TOP of their current medical expenses and insurance. These are people who generally earn $75,000 a year or less.

The video above is one that will be run in Florida which has a large senior citizen resident base.

Value Added Tax. Doesn’t sound like such a bad thing does it? The Value Added Tax (VAT Tax) is what experts have been telling us is coming. And they were right. Imagine!

How Will We Pay For Health Care Reform?
From the mouth of Nancy Pelosi, who said that the VAT Tax is something that is fair to look at as part of an overhaul of the nation’s tax code. She went on to state “Somewhere along the way, a value-added tax plays into this.”

Tricky!

Translation please!

Bob Schieffer, in a Face the Nation interview with President Barack Obama asked if the promise of “no additional tax on people making less than $250,000 a year, no payroll tax and no capital gains.”

To that Obama replied. “I can still keep that promise, about two thirds of what we’ve proposed would be from money that’s already in the health care system and just being spent badly.” And the other one third for health care reform?

Well, that’s not true. A VAT is a National Sales Tax that is paid over and above State Sales Tax. So, if you’re used to paying an 8.5% sales tax, you pay it. Then, if the VAT is say… 5%, you pay that too. So now you are paying 13.5% in taxes.

VAT Targets People With Low To Middle Incomes
People with lower to middle incomes typically can’t afford to buy things in quantity. They buy when they have the money – that is, more often. Steve Moore , an economist and writer for the Wall Street Journal says that one-half of these new taxes will be paid by low to middle income Americans. He goes on to state that VAT is a European type tax and VAT is always present in countries with Social Welfare.

67% Frown On National Sales Tax (uh-oh)

Good thing Alan Grayson is looking out for what “America wants”. He says America Wants Health Care Reform. He’s right. What he doesn’t state is that at least half of “America” agrees that health care needs to be reformed, we just don’t want what the White House is proposing and probably never will.

That’s how they do things on “that” side of the table. They lie, try to create fear with drama and if that doesn’t work they lie some more. Don’t tell America what America wants Mr. Grayson. I can show you what some 15 million Americans want. They want jobs. You know it, I know it, the world knows it and you’re diversion tactics won’t work. B+ for the delivery though. More believable content needed. Better luck next time.

Health Care (whatever the heck passes) isn’t even going to go into effect until 2013 (convenient?), yet we have over 15 million Americans people out of jobs TODAY. How can that be? Do you seriously think that these people who can’t even pay their bills give one flip about health care? How delusional are you?

Grayson also has a message about Olympia Snowe
“We as a party have spent the last 6-months, the greatest minds of our party, dwelling on the question; the unbelievably consuming question, of how to get Olympia Snowe to vote for health care reform. I want to remind us all, Olympia Snowe was not elected president last year. Olympia Snowe has no veto power in the Senate. Olympia Snowe represents a state with one half of one percent of America’s population.”

Does he have a writer and a drama coach?
Grayson then goes on to state that if Barack Obama had a BLT for lunch tomorrow “they” (Republicans) would try to ban bacon.

Is he kidding? What do you think would happen to Barack Obama’s approval rating if he and his cronies actually did something like… got America back to work?

Duh?

All through the Obama campaign, the words hope, change, and transparency exemplified what we, as a nation would experience with President Obama. Now, one year later, people are coming to understand we’ve been fooled again. Speeches and debates during a campaign are merely “words that work.”

“There’s only room for one and here (s)he comes, here (s)he comes” – David Bowie, Suffragette City

Agree with him or not, the Barack Obama speeches were slick monologues written to get America to buy. With his charming smile, perfect delivery, charisma, and honest eyes, the majority of America bought the lemon. He was “the one.” As with the slimiest of salesmen, the Obama camp wasn’t interested in the re-order, they just wanted the sale.

Suffragette City
As backup, the Obama camp spread the word of hope, change and transparency through a group called ACORN, tasked with getting as many men, women, and Disney characters to register to vote. “This is our time! Be heard!” (And the crowd… went… wild). Only in America. Only in America could Snow White and illegal immigrants register and vote (many times each) for his or her candidate of choice. Only in America could an organization tasked with getting out the vote, throw Republican registrations away.

As with the hanging chad election of 2000, conservatives now – like democrats then will always wonder if the race was fair.

“Don’t lean on me man ’cause you can’t afford the ticket” - David Bowie, Suffragette City

The colossal campaign dollars raised and spent for Obama to be elected was impressive. It was “in the bag.” But the money was only a small part of it. The “Obama alternative” was John McCain who is really George Bush that’s been washed, rinsed and repeated. That scared many of us conservative voters. A lot!

So where is the hope? We hope Americans can start getting to work soon? We hope these hand wringing politicians currently in the White House get voted out? We hope the economy starts getting better? Where in the world is the hope? If anything, Americans are far less hopeful than they were in early 2008. Hope was stripped away from us and what’s left is distrust . This is evident in the Obama Free fall ratings as well as, oops what’s that… a 21% Congressional approval rating. Way to go team! We were lied to… again. You Lie!

And… How about that change? Not quite the change we’d “hoped” for eh? I guess if turning the nation upside down, selling us out to other countries and taking away what freedoms we have is what you were hoping for, then you got your change. Change will only come when we fill the House of Representatives and the Senate with honest people. People, not politicians. An honest politician is an oxymoron just like an honest lawyer.

“Well, don’t lean on me man ‘Cause you ain’t got time to check it” – David Bowie, Suffragette City

Finally, transparency. I thought about this a lot last night. This was probably the biggest lie in the entire campaign. Not only is there nothing remotely resembling transparency, there are also opaque layers and layers between what our Representatives “say” and what is reality. They inundated us with insignificant things, much like the Clinton administration did, thinking we’ll get distracted. It worked then, the Nation wasn’t hanging on for dear life. It won’t work now.

2010 Congressionl Elections… Hurry Up!
Should we as employers of the House and the Senate not be allowed to see every single bill before it’s voted on? It’s amazing that this is even an option. If you haven’t already, please contact your representatives and demand to see the bill before it’s voted on. This is our right and we can’t let them take it away from us.

“It’s outa sight, whoa it’s all right” – David Bowie – Suffragette City

I watched a clip on Bill O’Reilly the other night. It was of Michael Moore who said into the camera and indirectly to members of the House and the Senate that if they don’t get health care reform passed he and his posse would make sure the members are unseated. Whatever. I say, unseat them regardless. The only way we’re going to have America back is with a colon cleanse of the entire House of Representatives and the Senate. Some can stay… most should go.

“Aaaaaah, wham bam thank you ma’am” David Bowie – Suffragette City

Dear Mr. President:
“We The People” realize you have an agenda that must be met. It’s got to be difficult for you and your “buds” in the white house to spin plates all day yet accomplish so little. I’m writing today so I can help you prioritize your “to do” list.

Dear Mr. President:

“We The People” realize you have an agenda that must be met. It’s got to be difficult for you and your “buds” in the white house to spin plates all day yet accomplish so little. I’m writing today so I can help you prioritize your “to do” list.

Today there will be approximately:

60 Americans who will die from being uninsured

109 who will die in an automobile accident related death

2,191 people who will attempt suicide

1,566 homes in California alone will be foreclosed on. This means approximately 2,700 people will no longer have the security they had just a few months ago.

15 million (and we know that number is actually much higher) have lost their jobs. They have no way to pay their bills. Over 4 million of them have been out of a job for 6 months… 182 days.

But the number of unemployed doesn’t just affect 15 million people Mr. President. The number of unemployed also affects the immediate family of the unemployed. That number also creates a hardship on the friends and relatives of the unemployed.

Let’s be real with that number. Today 90 million people will be in some way affected by unemployment. Some won’t eat. Some won’t sleep. Some won’t have a place to live. Some will give their savings to a family member in need.

We know your agenda is just that, your agenda, and actually we’re used to that. It doesn’t shock many of us anymore. It was a tricky, tricky, tricky move to bring in all the Doctors (in lab coats no less). They looked like the lost cast of Dexters Laboratory Much more on that in a post later today.

We’re happy that you and your family are eating fresh fruit and vegetables from a new market near the White House. Mmm, Mmm, Mmm. We’re excited to know that we can still afford to pay for 2 jumbo jets for you, your wife, and Oprah to go to Denmark at over 1 million dollars per plane when so many of us can’t even afford 3 meals a day. I’m glad we could help you out.

I’m equally as excited to see that, after the auto industry bailout that cost each tax payer how much?… General Motors was down 45% in September yet good old Ford who didn’t take a bailout was only down 3.3%. I’d say we flopped on that one Mr. Obama, that wasn’t really a great investment.

It makes me all gushy-happy to see Nancy Pelosi get off a private plane and then have such total disregard for the people that foot the bill. It really is nice to see how much she cares.

Lucky for me, I am a small business owner and have enough money to financially “bail-out” both of my sisters.

Let’s go back over those numbers again. The ones on your “to-do” list. And I’ll leave this one on you. You’re intelligent. Do you see anything a little “off” on your agenda… on your focus?

Your proposed health care reform abortion won’t even take affect until you’re voted out of office because you only did one thing you promised during campaign time. I’ll have to hand it to you though, VERY strategic on the timing (as if we didn’t understand, good grief). Since your proposed health care reform plan (that you don’t even have on paper yet) isn’t going come into play until 2013, don’t you think it MAY be a good idea to focus on the 15 million people out of a job today? Color me… the opposite of red.
